Motorhome Insurance

A common practice for RV owners is to insure their RV under their current auto policy. But too often the owner does not take the time to read what and how much is covered under their auto policy. In many instances, RV’s covered under auto policies are not adequately covered.

One misconception RV owners have is that the personal property in their RV will be covered under their homeowner’s policy. This is true, but coverage on personal property is limited when the property is kept somewhere other than the “residence premises.” Often the limit in a standard policy is very low and the usual policy deduction would apply.

To insure proper and adequate coverage, a RV owner should add separate RV coverage to their current auto policy or secure a policy specifically for RV's.

If the RV owner’s insurance carrier does not have this type of coverage available, there are insurance companies that specialize in RV coverage. Usually the cost is minimal, especially compared to the alternative of finding out the RV and it’s possessions are not covered after a loss occurs.

Travel Trailer Insurance

You may tow your travel trailer with your car, but that doesn’t mean your auto or home policies provide the coverage needed. It is a separate entity that may need additional coverage for direct and accidental physical damage to your travel trailer. The range of covered hazards include, but isn’t limited too, collisions, lighting, flooding, landslides, wind and hail, wild animals, fire and smoke, vandalism and theft, and trees and overhangs.

Motorcycle Insurance

Motorcycle Insurance typically offers a combination of liability, comprehensive, collision, and optional coverages designed specifically to meet the needs of motorcycle owners. If you own a motorcycle (whether you ride it or not) you need this coverage to protect you from theft, collision, and other common exposures. The last thing you want to find out is your custom chrome, paint, leather, sound system is not covered after a loss.

Some of the items that may affect premiums:

ATV Insurance

Most states do not require all-terrain vehicle (ATV) or utility vehicle (UTV) insurance however, this does not mean you do not need it. Homeowners insurance usually will not cover your ATV or UTV if you are operating it off your property.

ATV and UTV insurance protects you in the event of an accident and provides liability coverage in the event you are the one at-fault for the accident.

Whether you equipped your ATV or UTV for hunting, camping, trail riding, thrill seeking, or maintenance around your property, Horizon can help you find the right amount of protections you need.

Watercraft Insurance

Boats and personal watercraft are big investments, but if you love being out on the water you know they are worth it. Protect your fun investment with coverage that is designed with the boat lover in mind and not some standard coverage or add-on to your home policy.

Boat insurance works like the insurance for your vehicle and can protect in the same way. But since boats have different features than your vehicle, you will want to make sure you have all the coverages you need along with all the discounts you qualify for.

Let Horizon make your time on the water relaxed and worry free. We will work with you to find comprehensive protection that protects you and your family, your friends, and your watercraft.
