Home Insurance

Your home is a very important investment, and our job is to help you protect it. You have worked hard for what you have, and it is crucial to have the proper protection to safeguard against the unexpected.
There are several options and package levels for home insurance. Because of this, it is imperative that you do a thorough review of the construction qualities of your home and a review of your contents to make sure you get the right level of coverage.
This is where Horizon can help! We will review the features of your home and ask you questions about your contents to tailor a package that fits your needs. Remember the saying “you get what you pay for”? Working with an agent that has the lowest price but does not take the time to review the features of your home, or ask about the type of contents you have, generally leads to coverage gaps.
Condo Insurance
When buying a condo, it is important to get a copy of the Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions (CC&R’s) prior to your purchase so you know what coverage you need to secure. Typically, the condo association only covers the building (excluding the interior of your condo unit) common areas, and utilities to your condo unit. This leaves you with making sure your policy covers the interior of the unit to include: drywall and paint, interior walls, flooring, cabinets, plumbing and lighting fixtures interior electrical wiring, and any other features within the walls of your condo along with your contents.
Again, this is where Horizon can help! A lot of condo owners do not have the proper coverage because a review of the CC&R’s was not done. We will review the CC&R’s with you to find our what coverage you need for your condo, discuss the quality of the finishes to make sure the interior is replaced, and review the type of contents you have all to avoid coverage gaps.
Renters Insurance
The biggest misconception by renters is that their landlord will cover their contents and provide liability protection for them. Unfortunately, this is not true. Each renter needs to secure their own policy covering their contents and liability. Securing coverage to replace your contents in case of fire or theft or having liability in case you are the cause of someone’s injury, will give you peace of mind.,
Once more, this is where Horizon can help! We will review with you the type of contents you have and help you select the liability amount needed to protect you.
