Open enrollment is upon us again, time to start thinking about your health care plan and the options available to you. If you have Medicare, open enrollment is Oct 15 and ends Dec 7. If you are on an individual medical plan, open enrollment runs from November 1 to December 15th.
So let’s talk basics. Open enrollment is the only time of year that you can make changes to your plan, unless you fall into a special enrollment period (SEP). An example of an SEP is the involuntary loss of credible coverage or certain changes in family status. There are some things to consider when thinking about whether you should look around for a different plan. Have you been diagnosed with a chronic illness? Have your prescriptions changed? If any of these have happened, you may qualify for a different program. If you are a bit afraid to shop around and find out what might be out there due to not wanting to answer health questions, don’t be! Not all plans require you to answer health questions. Don’t let that fear stop you from calling us and finding out if a different plan or supplement can benefit you, and possibly save you money.
There are many options when it comes to your health care plan. Let us help you find the answers you are looking for and the plan that fits you best. Call us here at Horizon Insurance Agency, LLC and talk to Ashley today!
