Special Enrollment Period rules will be changing April 21st for Medical.

A special enrollment period is a time outside the open enrollment period when you can sign up for coverage or shop for a new plan. Certain life changes or special circumstances may qualify you for a special enrollment period. For events that don’t qualify for a special enrollment period, you’ll need to wait for the next open enrollment period to sign up or shop for a new plan.

In Washington Healthplanfinder, if you have  experienced a qualifying life event, you have 60 days to sign up for coverage or shop for a new plan from the date of that qualifying life event. Special enrollment periods apply to clients seeking coverage in Qualified health and dental plans. Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) enrollment is year-round, clients do not need a special enrollment period to apply and may change their Managed Care plan year-round.
